INGROWN HAIR

When a hair that has not grown beyond the skin's surface folds back under the surface and begins to grow inwardly, it is known as an ingrown hair. Bacterial growth around the hair shaft can cause a painful eruption below the skin.
    * Apply T36-C5 to the specific area of the infection. Continue applications every two hours until the infection has disappeared. Consult your health care provider if the condition persists.

LICE

Lice infestation (Pediculosis) involves the head (P. capitis), the trunk or extremities (P. corporis), or the genital area (P. pubis). The lice live directly off blood after biting and puncturing the skin. They live in hairy areas including eyebrows, eyelashes, or beards, where they lay grayishwhite eggs (nits), which can be seen with a magnifying glass on the hair follicles. Head lice can live for about 30 days and lay about 100 nits each! The nit is glued onto the hair shaft and hatches in 7 to 10 days where the sluggish, overweight-looking insects seem eager for their first meal. Multiple familie of lice cause excruciating pain, irritation and itching. Lice are transmitted by contact with objects such as combs, hats and shared garments. For this reason, head lice are common among school children. Scientists believe that 80% of lice are resistant to prescription and over-the-counter treatments which often contain dangerous pesticides. Fortunately, Melaleuca oil products are a safe alternative.
* Immediately upon suspecting or seeing evidence of lice, shampoo with Melaleuca Original Shampoo and bathe with I oz of Sol-U-Mel and 1 oz of Renew Bath Oil added to the bath water. Afterwards, massage T36-C5 into the scalp and hair to soften and dislodge the nits (the eggs of the lice). Don't be stingy with the oil! Comb the oil through the hair. To fumigate the live insects, wrap your hair in a hot moist towel for 10 minutes. Repeat every other day for at least 5 treatments (10 days).
It has also been suggested to spray the hair with diluted Sol-U-Mel, followed by shampooing with Melaleuca Original Shampoo. Let it set for about 10 minutes before rinsing. Using a nit comb, the eggs should come out easily. Repeat this procedure to be sure that all the lice are gone.
To avoid re-infestation, wash all clothing and bedding with MelaPower plus Sol-U-Mel in hot water. Add 2 oz of Sol-U-Mel to 16 oz of water and spray the entire house, especially affected areas. Wash hair regularly with Melaleuca Original Shampoo

CRADLE CAP

Cradle cap is a yellowish scaling and crusted area on the top of the scalp of an infant during the first month of life. The scales may pile up because the mother is afraid to wash the baby's scalp thoroughly. The face may also be affected. Cradle cap is more extensive in chubby infants. Susceptibility to bacterial infection and candidiasis is increased.
Make a very diluted mixture of T36-C5 blended with olive oil. Combine thoroughly and apply to the affected area. Leave it on for several minutes before shampooing with the Koala Pals Tear-Free Conditioning Hair Wash

OILY HAIR

Oily hair is often the body's reaction to over-washing. The more often the hair is washed, the more oil our body tends to produce. When the hair is frequently washed it removes much of the hair's natural oils, causing the oil glands to overact.
Wash your hair daily with Envia Nature's Salon Clarifying Shampoo. If the oily condition persists after two weeks, cut back to washing your hair every other day, At first this may seem to exasperate the problem, but the body will slow down its oil production when there is an ample amount of oil in the hair. This is one condition which often gets worse before it gets better. Fortunately, a few days of abstinence will payoff in the long run.

Hair Loss

One cause of hair loss can be an inherited trait seen in middle-aged men. A receding hairline is caused by an accumulation of male hormones, which alters the natural fats secreted in the scalp and stunts hair growth. The characteristic pattern is thinning and baldness beginning in the front and progressing backward over the head. Research has recently shown that men who begin this pattern in their 20s or early 30s instead of the mid-40s have a greater risk of developing heart disease early in life. Male pattern baldness or slow hair loss due to aging has no known proven treatment. It appears to be nature's conservative desire to reduce unneeded plumage as we get older. We do know that protein metabolism (hair is pure protein) slows down by about one-half after the sixth decade of life. We also know that maximizing our nutrition in youth helps avoid or postpone many genetic weaknesses called inborn errors of metabolism.

How to Use your Shampoo and Conditioner Effectively?

The goal of using a shampoo is to remove the unwanted build-up in the hair like oil and dirt. Now-a-days, shampoos include a conditioning component. Conditioners will help ease combing and styling, making your hair smooth and tangle free. There are two things that should be taken care of during hair care. First thing that should be kept in mind is to choose a shampoo and conditioner that suits you the best. For this, you need to know your hair type. If your scalp is too dry or too oily, you should take special care in choosing the products. The second thing is to understand how to use them properly and effectively. Here are a few tips that you can follow to use your shampoo and conditioner effectively
